Last week had been exhausting. My able helper, DH, could only put in half the time he normally did. Apart from getting home later from work, he had been inundated with phone calls and incessant work at his laptop. Well, there was an emergency with a teleoperator in middle east that started 2 weeks ago that culminated in a management escalation all the way to the CEO. Guess if shit hit the fan when that happened. With DH being the Technical Lead of the case, it was a struggle for me. In practical terms, we had dinner at 10 pm on some days.
Weekend was only slightly better as the case was still ongoing. Nonetheless, we (or I, to be precise ;) did a flash round of shopping at Stockmann, Helsinki's only respectable departmental store, on its last day of Hullut Päivät (Crazy Days) sale. DH & baby parked themselves at the store's cafe while I thronged with the crowd like a seasoned Asian shopper. Yep, after Orchard Road's pre-Christmas sales & Bangkok's Chaptuchak market, crowds of crazy women do not faze me.
